Big Month of March

March has been a BIG month for the boys. We visited the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where we got to pet all sorts of animals, watch pig races, and try deep fried oreos and chicken-fried bacon. (Let the record show that it was GrandDad that procured the bacon, not Daddy) Aron was a huge fan of the chicken-fried bacon, and both boys have become big fans of anything bacon-related. On that note, we think they may actually be consuming more food on a daily basis than either of their parents....our little chowhounds. Good thing that with a few exceptions, like the rodeo, we keep them eating healthy.

Aden decided this month he was tired of crawling and got determined to walk. His little spring-loaded knees make for quite the frankenstein-like toddle. He enjoys sneaking up behind Daddy in the kitchen. Aron has decided that despite being first to crawl, he's going to ease into the walking thing. He's an accomplished walker when he wants to show his skills, but still seems to prefer crawling.

March also marked the arrival of a new means of transportation for the boys, a new red jogging stroller. With big bicycle tires and shock absorbers, this baby can take whatever our neighborhood sidewalks can throw at it. Aron was so excited when he saw it. He loves red and wanted to climb in immediately. He was disappointed I think to learn that he would in fact have to share it with his brother. Nevertheless, the new chariot is very fitting for our little exalted one. We've nick-named the stroller, the Patton 9000.

We went today to a community Easter Egg Hunt in League City. Mommy found the boys some really cute Easter baskets, and Mimi supplied some cute Easter outfits. We tried to work with them beforehand on picking up the eggs and putting them in the basket, but they never totally got the hang of it. I think they just preferred playing in the dirt. We had a great time and went home for a nice long nap. Tomorrow we go to the Bayou Art Festival in Memorial Park, and continue preparing for a bunch of Mommy's family visiting next weekend for Easter.

Aden Standing

Aron Walking

Aden's First Hair Cut

Aron's First Hair Cut

Babies to Little Boys

Our sweet babies are turning into little boys. This month has been busy with first steps, first hair cuts and first Oreos. Today we took the boys to get their first hair cut. I was prepared for the worst and was more than pleasantly surprised by my angelic babies. They were both so good even when the hairdresser brought out the clippers. It was sad to see Aron's baby curls being cut but I knew I couldn't let the mullet go on. After their hair cut they looked like sharp little men.

Aden is on the brink of walking and has already taken a few first steps. He is getting more courageous in standing on his own. He practices walking with his walkers and can get up to almost a jog behind it. Since the new year we have made the move from formula to whole milk. The boys are eating three solid meals a day. Both boys will point at the pantry and say 'mum-mum' which means they want a snack. During the day they really work up an appetite being so busy. They fill their time by opening and shutting doors, pulling things out of drawers, making their musical toys play over and over and flipping through books. Aron was the first to let the rhythm move him and started dancing. His singing toys have almost a hypnotic affect in that when one starts playing he has to stop what he is doing and dance.
