Second chorus

"All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth....." The other one will be out by Thanksgiving so he stands a good chance of Santa bringing him new teeth.

Halloween

The boys and I flew to Pheonix for the weekend in search of fun and treats (rumor has it that candy tastes better in AZ, must be the dry air). We spent the weekend with Aunt Eden and scored a pillowcase of candy, won a trash bag full of stuffed animals from the State Fair and hiked mountains everyday. Aden had such heartburn about leaving that his first morning home he cried all the way to school telling me he wanted to go back and have Eden adopt him. He got Aron just as worked up because for Eden to adopt him mommy and daddy would be dead. Both of them were crying in their Cheerios at breakfast. I was so tired from the weekend, I wanted to cry. It was quite the buzz kill from a high energy weekend.

Gone Fishing

On a beautiful day we decided to get out for some fresh air and go fishing. We went to a lake near the house for what I thought would be a short trip. The fish were so prolific that we stayed until the sun went down. Aden caught the biggest fish. He had big ideas from the start that he was going to catch the biggest fish in the lake. After a few small ones Aden had something on his line that took all three of us to reel in. Sadly as we were pulling it out of the water the line broke, but Aden was able to see it and now he has his tale of the one that got away. I didn't get too good of a look but I think it might have been a 2lb crappie or bluegill. By the time we saw our friends to tell the story the fish was as big as five of their heads with spikes on its back. Aron is telling everyone it is a puffer fish. I suspect we will be heading back out with better gear soon (and a fishing license) to catch the biggest fish in the lake.

Later today Daddy will be returning from a fishing trip too and we will see what he brings home, but I am sure unless it is a shark it won't be as big as Aden's.

Pumpkin Minions

Sine the first notion that Aden wanted a minion pumpkin he has been insistent that we make it happen. Last weekend we unloaded the pumpkins from the church, and although it was fun, Aden was disatisfied because they were not on sale for another week. This weekend he made sure it was on the agenda. We went to the patched with character in mind to find the right shape. It took most of Saturday and Aden painted his twice, but we finally reached an acceptable scarey  (but not too scarey) result.

Loading Up the Pumpkin Patch

We helped the local church with unloading thousands of pumpkins for a fundraiser.

Luke & Vader

The sound of pitter patter has returned to our house.

Luke Skywalker (white & grey) is wild. He immediately jumped from the second floor in his first 5 minutes in the house. He growls at his toys like a dog and is earning a reputation as an ankle bitter. He functions with only an On and Off switch.

Darth Vader (black) unlike his namesake is a cuddler. He enjoys being carried on your shoulder and watching video games. His stray personality comes through when food is around. Vader is a food opportunist, he jumps on the table and helps himself to whatever Aden is eating.

All four boys are enjoying their new playmates.

Birthday 6.75

We closed out the summer with a big birthday bash bbq. (Say that 5 times fast) This year's theme was Ninja Turtles. We had a bounce house and mint chocolate cupcakes. All the family was there and it was a 4 day long birthday extravaganza.
